Decent tool, some features could improve

I've been using Privy for a couple of months now, mainly for their Email Marketing and basic segmentation. The Drag and Drop Editor for emails is quite good and makes sending out newsletters easy. I also found the E-commerce Analytics helpful for tracking open rates. However, setting up more complex Audience Targeting for specific campaigns felt a bit clunky compared to other platforms I've tried. The mobile app is convenient for checking stats on the go, but it doesn't have full editing capabilities. Value for money is fair, but I wish the advanced segmentation was more intuitive without needing to dig through help articles.

Good for email capture, some setup time

I signed up for the free plan to try out the List Growth Tools, specifically the Popups. The setup was fairly straightforward, even for someone not super tech-savvy. I integrated it with my Shopify store, which took about 15 minutes following their guide. The drag and drop editor for the popup design was intuitive, letting me customize it to match my brand. I started capturing emails almost immediately, which was the main goal. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about A/B Testing, getting back to me within a few hours. My only slight complaint is that getting the exit intent overlays to trigger perfectly took a bit of fine-tuning, but once set, it worked well. Overall, a solid platform for getting more subscribers.

Boosted my sales, loving it!

I just started using Privy's Cart Abandonment Emails and oh my goodness, what a difference! My sales have seriously gone up. It was so easy to set up. I can't believe I didn't get this sooner. My customers are actually coming back and finishing their purchases. I'm telling all my business friends about it. Definitely going to keep using this!

Simple setup, works well

I used Privy for an Embedded Form on my Wix site. It was easy to integrate. The form looks clean. It captured emails without issues. Good service.

Reliable for newsletters and popups

I've been a Privy customer for over a year now, mainly using their Newsletter feature and Sign Up Bars. This last order was for upgrading my plan to include more contacts. The process was smooth, just like previous times. Their platform has always been consistent; I haven't had any major downtime. The Email Templates are decent and save me a lot of time. It's why I keep coming back, it just works without much fuss.

Can I use Privy if I have multiple different Shopify stores, or do I need a separate subscription for each one?

S Sarah Carter 1 month ago
You can manage multiple stores with Privy. I think there's a feature specifically for multi-store management, so you wouldn't need separate subscriptions.

C Chris 1 month ago
Pretty sure they have multi-store options, so you should be good. Check their pricing tiers though, it might be a higher plan or an add-on.

Hey, I'm thinking about switching to Privy for my Shopify store. Does anyone know if they offer a free plan or something similar to try it out without committing?

L Lisa 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally have a 15-day free trial. I used it to check out all the features before signing up for a paid plan.

N Noor Silva 1 month ago
There's also a free plan for really small stores, but it's pretty basic. The trial gives you access to everything for a bit longer.

I'm in Chicago, how long does it usually take to get Privy set up and running if I decide to go with them? Is it a quick process or does it take a few days?

N Nick 1 month ago
It's a software, so there's no shipping time or anything. You just sign up and integrate it with your Shopify store. Should be good to go in like an hour or two, depending on how tech-savvy you are.

Mine was pretty instant for Wix. Just connect it up and start building pop-ups. You're not waiting for a delivery, it's all online.

What's the deal with canceling Privy if it doesn't work out? Is it a hassle, or can you just cancel online easily?

J Jared F. 1 month ago
Super easy. You just go into your settings or dashboard and hit cancel. No need to call anyone or jump through hoops.

Yeah, I canceled a while back to try another tool and it was straightforward. Didn't have any issues getting out of it.

I saw some ads for Privy around Black Friday. Do they usually have special deals or promo codes around then?

J Josh Brooks 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they totally do! November and December are big for SaaS deals. I'd keep an eye out for Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts, they usually pop up.

I snagged a Black Friday deal from them a couple of years ago. It was a good percentage off for new sign-ups, I think. Worth waiting for if you can.

Does Privy have a limit on how many contacts you can have before they start charging more? Or is it based on something else?

M Mark 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's definitely based on contacts. The more subscribers you have, the higher your plan tier or cost will be. That's pretty standard for email platforms.

J Jared E. 3 weeks ago
It's a common model. Your contact list size directly impacts your monthly bill. Just something to factor in as your business grows.

Has anyone used both Privy and Klaviyo? I'm trying to figure out which one is better for email marketing for a small business.

G Gwen K. 1 month ago
Klaviyo is really powerful for segmentation and super detailed flows, but it can be more complex and expensive. Privy is usually easier to get started with and good for pop-ups and basic email stuff. Depends on what you need.

P Priya 4 weeks ago
I started with Privy and it was great for getting my list going. Klaviyo felt a bit overwhelming when I first looked at it. Privy is more user-friendly for beginners, I think.

Thinking of getting a paid Privy plan. Is there usually a discount if you pay for a whole year upfront instead of monthly?

R Ryan 1 month ago
Definitely! They usually give you a decent discount, like 10-20% off, if you switch to annual billing. Worth it if you're planning on sticking with them.

C Carly T. 1 month ago
I get a discount for my annual plan. It's a no-brainer if you're committed.
